Canberra Short Film Festival

Short Flicks Big Kicks

FROM THE DIRECTOR

Excitement always mounts as we head into the next CSFF.

The judges have selected the films for screening and arrived at their difficult decisions on who the final winners are!

We kick off the festival with a special Schools matinee which showcases the great work from the Schools and Under 18 category.

Then the festival launches into two weeks of successive screenings running every night.

Nearly 200 films, coming from 28 countries,  across 10 categories have made their way onto our festival screens.

The films cover a broad range of topics and themes.  We create some special screening evenings for audiences with particular interests, as well as the more general screening sessions with a mixture of the best from all the categories and a wide range of styles and genres.

Look out for strand screenings like;

  • The Politics of Sexuality and Gender Identity

  • First Nations Stories

  • Fright Night

  • Future Worlds (visions of possible worlds coming soon)

  • Documentaries

  • Iranian Films (films from contemporary Iran film makers)

There are all the usual favourites: Animations, Music Videos and the ever popular 2 Minute films.

There are panels and parties, and a filmmaker networking event.

We always look forward to seeing  you at the screenings, come and say hello and tell us about the film(s) you loved the most.

See you at the next one!
